If you ask any business owner about their objectives for their social media platforms, follower count is bound to be on top of the list! Business owners and marketers alike have been exploring different ways to increase the number of followers on different social media platforms, as well as keeping their audience engaged. Although there are many ways you can increase the number of followers on your social media platforms, all these methods can be categorized into two groups, organic marketing, and paid ads.
INDEX Media has conducted a survey to understand how millennial marketers and entrepreneurs prefer to increase the follower count on different social media platforms, and the results were somehow unexpected!
Almost 90% answered that they would rather increase follower count organically, rather than pay for ads! We believe this high percentage was due to several factors, and we will explain each one in this article.
If we look at the current situation, the COVID-19 pandemic has surely affected the way marketers and business owners are marketing their brands. Companies are cutting budgets and reallocating them. Some people, however, do think that optimal results cannot be reached without paid ads, which is not entirely true!
There are many ways entrepreneurs and marketers can increase follower count organically, by creating engaging content on feed and stories, using relevant hashtags, cross-promoting accounts on other social media platforms, utilizing geolocations, and reaching out to other business owners for collaborations!
